This door would have been regulary used by the servants of the house but for over 60 years it has not been used and been nailed shut.

There is a door bell too although it is not know where the bell would have sounded as all obvious bells are not connected to it.

Luggage-Entrances were seen in large houses, mansions, and considered an auxiliary entrance to the main entrance. The idea of a Luggage-Entrance was to provide a convenient point for loading and unloading luggage. Luggage areas opened into servant areas and not into rooms associated with the family. In superior homes a luggage-lift might also be used. This Luggage-Entrance would also have served as an entrances for the laird for direct access to the Gun Room.
