The Morning Room was mainly the time of day used. The room would be for use before lunch and the drawing room would be for receiving visitors and serving tea in the afternoon.
Generally, they would be on opposite sides of the house to take advantage of available daylight that way, the ladies could do their needlework, reading, and other social things.
