Saugh is the name of the room facing towards the Village of West Kilbride. It is unknown why it is named this as there is nothing that it relates to. The word in Scots Language translates to "The Willow Tree" suggesting there once was a wood of Willow Trees at Hunterston but from research none seemed to exist in the area.

There is also suggestion this room was used as accommodation by the Servants due to a bathroom being nearby.
